RICHTER SCALE PRODUCTIONS Awarded “Best Achievement in Technical Support” by Special Events Magazine

Richter Scale Productions was awarded this international award at the Special Event 2010 Gala Awards in New Orleans on January 15, 2010. Special event professionals from around the world gathered at this gala to celebrate the finest work in special events throughout the world!

Richter Scale Productions was incredibly honored – and humbled – to win such a prestigious award from its international peers in the special event industry for “Best Achievement In Technical Support” for the design and production of a convention in Las Vegas at the Red Rock Hotel and Casino. Richter Scale’s event entry, entitled “Conference in the Round”, described an event that Richter Scale, led by its President and CEO Harold Richter, designed to transform a standard conference ballroom into a non-typical, intimate environment that emphasized inter-connectivity combined with state-of-the-art visuals and production values for the benefit of the client’s key employees.

With “TOGETHERNESS” as the client’s theme, Harold Richter led his team in the design of a “Conference in the Round” for this three day conference. Richter placed a circular stage in the middle of the room, with seating radiating out in circular rows around the stage. This configuration allowed Richter to fit all 275 guests within five rows of the stage and keep everyone in close proximity, with a sense of “togetherness”. The entire ballroom was enveloped in floor-to-ceiling velour drape, which was strategically positioned to create an octagonal shaped room, with four projection screens placed on each end of the octagon. Circular trussing was hung from the ceiling above the round stage, continuing the “circular” motif while also providing support for the sound and lights.

Richter Scale Productions had worked with this particular client in the past, and was committed to delivering a world class, out-of-the-box design, coupled with the highest level of production value, to take this event “to the next level” for a seasoned client “who had seen it all”.
